Acadia National Park is the only national park that is split into several distinctive areas
Acadia National Park on the Schoodic Peninsula and Acadia National Park on Mount Desert
(you might have heard of Bar Harbor).
The third section lies south of Stonington on Deer Island and can only be accessed via ferry.

CADILLAC
As you look out the camp store window and into the bay, you’ll see a tall bald mountain in the distance. This is Cadillac Mountain at 1500+ feet elevation.
Cadillac Mountain is a popular destination for visitors to Acadia National Park. Accessible by car, it is the highest point on the eastern seaboard of the U.S., and offers magnificent views of a glaciated coastal and island landscape. The short, paved Cadillac Summit Loop Trail, interpretive waysides, restrooms, and gift shop are located at the summit.
SUNRISE & SUNSET
It’s worth the trip to witness the sun rise on Cadillac Mountain. Whether you greet the day or bid it farewell, the view from Cadillac Mountain is an unforgettable moment of natural beauty.

Location
Acadia Seashore Camping & Cabins is located about 20 minutes (11 miles) from Acadia National Park (Schoodic side) and 40-45 minutes from Acadia National Park on Mount Desert
Hikes
Taft Point Road to Taft Point has two hikes (0.8-mile loop & 0.5-mile loop) which are both are easy and great for a quick trip. as is Jones Pond (Route 1 to 195) For other suggestions, please ask at our front desk.
Junction 183 and 200
Junction 183 and/or Junction 200 provide access to several freshwater lakes (for fishing, swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding). Dogs can be off leash in this area. If you choose Junction 183, you’ll intersect the Downeast Sunrise Trail, which is 80 miles of old railroad line. With the rails removed, it’s perfect for hiking, biking, ATVing. There is parking there - 4 miles away from our campground. If you continue another 1/8 mile, just beyond the Sunrise Trail, on the left you can drive to the base of Schoodic Mountain and Donnell Pond – Beach area.
Lubec
For those bringing their passports, a trip to Lubec (and on into Canada just 1.9 miles beyond our U.S. border) is Roosevelt Campobello (on the Atlantic time zone) and “Tea with Eleanor” (FREE) You need to secure your FREE passes for the Tea, either the 10 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. Atlantic time, the night before by visiting their site: https://www.visitlubecmaine.com/ As you leave the Lubec/Campobello area, follow the signs to Quoddy Head State Park (there’s a wonderful beach area just below the lighthouse
